Volkswagen has introduced the 2012 Jetta GLI, which actually goes on sale later this year. It features modified bumpers, a honeycomb grille, smoked taillights, a dual exhaust system, and 17" alloy wheels.

There will be three trim levels. However, the base trim level comes with sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum trim, and alloy pedals. The next one adds a sunroof, dual zone climate control, heated leatherette seats, a Fender premium audio system, and 18" alloy wheels. The top of range Jetta GLI Autobahn  boasts GPS navigation and a push-button ignition.

The engine is well know 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol with 203PS and 280Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed DSG automatic is available as an option.

The other extras feature a sport-tuned suspension, an XDS cross differential, and four-wheel disc brakes with floating red calipers. 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI will hit the market in 2011 and the prices start at  $23 495.
