At the "Bread & Butter" youth fashion show in Berlin, Fiat premiered its 2010 Fiat 500 by Diesel, a special-edition compact vehicle which boasts two striking new features: the "Midnight indigo" blue body colour, and the second-generation turbodiesel 1.3 Multijet II 95hp (Euro 5) engine with Start&Stop system. The exclusive urban newcomer will be manufactured in limited number of 10 thousand units for the worldwide market.

Outside, the vehicle's modern styling packs an aggressive 16-inch alloy wheels, rear air intake imitation with Diesel logo, yellow brake calipers (only on the 1.4 100hp version) and satin chrome painted features. The interior of the specially styled, limited-edition car is also highly customised, including: dark denim style fabric with yellow stitching, Diesel logo on the gear lever knob and a specific satin chrome coloured dashboard.

In addition to the newly developed 1.3 Multijet 95hp, the 2010 Fiat 500 by Diesel is offered with a choice of three Euro 5 power units (the 1.2 69hp engine, the 1.3 Multijet 75hp engine with DPF and the 1.4 16v 100 HP engine), each with their own different qualities, all exploited to the full in combination with 5- or 6-speed manual gearboxes (petrol engines can be combined with a 5-speed Dualogic robotised sequential gear box).
