The Legacy Tourer model from Subaru celebrates 20 years anniversary. The event will be marked with the release of all new 2010 Subaru Legacy Tourer.  The car will be bigger than the previous models. The overall dimesions were increased by 50mm (width), 65mm (height), 55mm (length). This provides better comfort for the occupants and enahnaced safety.

The biggest trump of Legacy Tourer remais the enormous luggage space - 526 litres. By folding the rear seats you receive a 1,677-litre cargo hold.

The option list includes only two engines – either 2.0 litre diesel or 2.5 litre petrol. The diesel comes out with manual gearbox, while the petrol will use a new automatic transmission. The performance of the 2.0 litre diesel isn't outstanding, but it is good enough for everyday driving. 0-100km/h in 9.6 seconds, top speed of 120mph and excellent fuel economy and emissions - 46.3mpg and only 161g/km of CO2.

Seems like the petrol is the worse choice. The maximum output of the 2.5 litre four cylinder engine is 167ps and 229Nm of torque. On the road that means acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 10.3 seconds and the same top speed like the diesel – 120mph.

Standard equipment of new Tourer is very good. It includes: alloy wheels, tilt-and-slide sunroof, heated front seats, six CD tuner with RDS and six speakers, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, and automatic activation for wipers and headlights.

The new 2010 Legacy Tourer will be put on sale from 1 October. The prices start at £23,295 for the 2.0D S, and range up to £27,295 for the 2.5i SE NavPlus Lineartronic.
