2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe – first glimpse

Posted by on

We are getting closer and closer to the colossal premiere of the Bavarian all-new small performance beast – the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. Dubbed with that unusual name, the new hot ride avoids the re-using of the iconic M1 badge.

In the new teaser video (only 47 seconds), BMW is uncovering a small piece of the ride’s front-end, revealing the sleek design of the ‘M’ division’s light alloys with drilled discs. A quad-exhaust unit and boot-lid spoiler are also easy recognizable in the short spot.

In the power compartment, the 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe will be fitted with a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six block with 335 horsepower and 369lb-ft of max torque. This stunning amount of power will be transferred to the tarmac via a manual gearbox and a torque-vectoring M differential.

The full unveiling of the new BMW performance ride is likely scheduled for the upcoming 2010 Paris Motor Show.
