Ford has just unveiled at the Paris Motor Show its all-new, 2011 Fiesta RS WRC. Designed in accordance with the FIA World Rally Championship regulations, the bold new Ford Fiesta World Rally Car is about to celebrate its first race in Rally Sweden on 10 - 13 February, which is scheduled as the opening round of the 2011 WRC season.

At the exhibition in Paris, the preview version of the rally sport tweaked Fiesta is showcasing a neat blue and gray livery, exclusively designed by the Blue Oval's Europe design team

The 2011 Ford Fiesta WRC draws its basis from the Fiesta S2000 rally ride, the winner of the epic Monte Carlo Rally in last January and other international and national rallies in 2010. Its bold, aerodynamic body is developed exclusively by Ford Europe and its rally partner M-Sport.

The heart of the new Fiesta WRC will be a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, based on the all-new Ford EcoBoost engine family and mated to a four-wheel drive transmission.

Mike Norton, Ford of Europe's Motorsport Manager, shared: "The introduction of Ford's latest engine technology to its rally program reinforces further our commitment to motorsport. It also demonstrates our continued support for affordable competition by using an off-the-shelf production engine on which to base our WRC power plant."
