At the 2010 Canadian International Auto Show, Mazda is displaying the five-door small hatch 2011 Mazda2. Loaded with fresh appeal yet efficient and fun-to-drive, the newcomer will make its North American market launch in the late summer of 2010.

Benefiting from the Mazda's sophisticated language of compact styling - Zoom-Zoom Concentrated, the 2011 Mazda2 is more than ready to bring the sporty design with powerful flowing lines and agile performance to the subcompact segment.

The MY2011 Mazda2 renders extremely open and roomy interior. Fallowing the styling theme "a space that communicates movement", the exhibited compact car is engineered with strong movement-imitating lines and low belt line offering great forward visibility and escaping irreversible from the flat/cheap interior forms. With the instrument panel comfortably situated and the controls wisely placed in the central area, the cockpit of the small hatch underlines its driver-orientation exclusively. At the same time, the instrument panel's middle area has a substantial form that communicates a stunning character. The climate-control vents and various controls possess distinctive circular details that contribute to a fresh, emotionally appealing look and feel. A simple centre-stack shape is complemented by a swath of piano black trim to express a distinctive personality and a sense of quality. Both audio controls and climate controls are laid out for easy legibility. Related control buttons are grouped according to function for intuitive ease of use.

In the terms of driving dynamics, the newcomer highlights highly regarded suspension unit, which has MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion-beam axle at the rear. With improved steering and braking systems, the resulting dynamic performance yields consistently responsive handling and a smooth, stable ride that draws much from the legendary MX-5. Furthermore, the urban cruiser offers low fuel consumption and top-level safety performance.
