Fiat has announced their plans to offer two new engines for the iconic 500L. The "City Lounge", as the car has been dubbed, is the result of a very special alchemy. It is a new city car concept that redefines the compact category for the modern family in an emotional vein by expanding on a few styling features of the 500 in unprecedented forms.

The first one is a 0.9 liter TwinAir Turbo with 105HP (74 kW) and 145Nm (107 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 12.3 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). It returns astonishing fuel consumption of just 58.8 MPG UK – 4.8 liters / 100 km with CO2 emissions of 112 g/km.

Second is 1.6 liter MultiJet II Turbo-diesel again with 105HP (74 kW), but 320Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 11.3 seconds and a top speed of 181 km/h (112 mph). It needs just 4.5 liters / 100 km – 62.7 MPG UK with CO2 emissions of 117 g.

Both engines will offered in the 500L from March, this year.
