Volkswagen UK has published a full price list of the 2014 Scirocco. The sports hatchback starts from just £20,455 (OTR) for the entry level 1.4 liter TSI – 125HP manual model a goes up to £33,795 for the 2.0 litre TSI 280HP Scirocco R.

The new Scirocco made its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March, 40 years after the first of its kind.

The exterior boasts refined and modernised shape featuring new headlights and tail lights, as well as revised front and rear bumpers. The front one comes with aerodynamic ‘blades' in the outer section, like those on the latest-generation Golf GTI, with integrated indicator lights, daytime running lights and fog lights. All models opted with bi-xenon headlights get LED DRLs within them.

The LED taillights are now standard and the Volkswagen logo badge now has an additional purpose: functioning as the tailgate release handle.

The top-of-range Scirocco R comes with a distinctive looks featuring additional aerodynamics upgrades as well as a set of 19" Cadiz alloy wheels. The rest of the range benefits from new alloy wheel designs.

The engine range includes six new turbocharged direct-injection petrol and diesel engines. All of the comply with EURO6 and return between 67.3 mpg UK and 35.3 mpg UK (4.2 liters / 100 km to 8 liters / 100 km). All models in the range except the R now feature BlueMotion Technology modifications, meaning they come as standard with Stop/Start and also brake energy recuperation systems.

The petrol range includes a 1.4 liter TSI – 125HP (92 kW); a 2.0 liter TSI – 180HP (132 kW) or 220HP (162 kW) and the 2.0 liter TSI of Scirocco R – 280HP (206 kW). The diesel side includes a 2.0 liter TDI with either 150HP (110 kW) or 184HP (135 kW).

The interior boasts new dials and an auxiliary instrument cluster above the centre console, consisting of chronometer, charge pressure and oil temperature gauges.

There are four trim levels including: Scirocco, GT, R-Line and R. The entry level Scirocco features - an RCD 510 touchscreen infotainment system with DAB digital radio with six-disc CD changer, SD card reader, MDI iPod and USB audio connectors and Bluetooth; air conditioning; automatic headlights and wipers; an auto-dimming rear view mirror; 17" Long Beach alloy wheels height-adjustable sports seats; and a multifunction leather-covered steering wheel (with paddleshifts on DSG models).

The GT model adds the RNS 315 touchscreen navigation system; 2Zone climate control; dark-tinted rear windows; 18"  Interlagos alloy wheels; front fog lights; front and rear parking sensors; a black roof lining; ‘chequered flag' dash inserts and aluminium-look pedals and cloth and Alcantara upholstery.

The R-Line model boasts R-Line bumpers and side skirts; 19" Talladega alloy wheels; R-Line scuff plates; an R-Line-specific steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever; ‘carbon-look' dash inserts; and heated, electrically adjustable Vienna leather sports seats.

Last, but not least- the Scirocco R comes with its own unique exterior styling kit - chrome-look door mirror caps; bi-xenon headlights with LED DRLs; 19" Cadiz alloy wheels; R-specific sports seats; 10 mm lower sports suspension; DCC dynamic chassis control; and a colour multifunction trip computer.
