At the German occasion Essen Motor Show 2009, the Association of German Car Tuners (VDAT) in co-operation with BMW AG and AC Schnitzer will debut its fifth concept car for the "TUNE IT! SAFE!" initiative, which is also supported by the Police and the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Road Development.

For the project, BMW AG provided a BMW 123d Coupe, which was mostly refined by the Aachen-based tuning specialist AC Schnitzer. The transformed, Police vehicle now strikes with upgraded 2.3 D engine, which produces 241 hp (177 kW) and 480 Nm of torque. With the new output data, the ACS1 2.3d Coupe accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 6.7 seconds and ensures its adequate performance in even the most fierce pursuit. Outside, the Police car is fitted with an aerodynamic kit, AC Schnitzer wheels Type IV BiColor wrapped in Hankook tyres and LEDayFlex modern daytime running lights from Hella. Furthermore, the car's stand is improved by a sports suspension with 30 mm lowering.

Inside, the law enforcers are surrounded by leather racing bucket seats with AC Schnitzer logo and silver genuine carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, centre console, door handles and steering wheel, which are perfectly complemented by the aluminium pedals and aluminium foot rests. A further highlight is the G-force indicator, which measures and displays the centrifugal forces inside the car.
