Audi will combine start-stop function with automatic gearbox to achieve better fuel consumption for their product range. First the combination will be build in Audi A3 1.6 TDI and 1.4 TFSI.

Audi A3 1.6 TDI is a four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 105hp and 250Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the road by dual-clutch S tronic gearbox. With this engine the hatchback is capable of doing 194km/h and goes from 0 to 100km/h in 11.7 seconds. The overall fuel consumption is 4.2 litres diesel for a 100 km.

The other A3, which will use start-stop function and automatic gearbox is powered by 1.4TFSI petrol engine. This small turbo power unit delivers 125hp and 200N/m of torque. The classic discipline 0-100km/h is achieved in 9.3 seconds and the top speed is 203km/h. The fuel consumption is as low as 5.3l/100km.

Prices for the 1.4 TFSI starts from €23,700 (3-door) and €24,600 (Sportback). The new 1.6 TDI with S tronic will cost €25,500 (base price) for the 3-door and €26,400 for the Sportback.
