Audi introduces the new Audi A6 2.0 TDIe in the Netherlands during the conference on climate control, of which Nobel Prize Peace Prize winner, Al Gore, is a guest speaker ( The leading participant will be chauffeured in the A6 2.0 TDIe, as well as being a luxurious and comfortable car, it is also extremely fuel-efficient. Across the range, we have improved its fuel economy by 15 percent compared to its predecessor. During the conference, the A6 TDIe will run on Shell's synthetic Gas To Liquids (GTL) fuel, combining today's cutting-edge clean technology in combination with the fuel of the future.

A total of 2000 people are planning on attending the conference, including politicians, young professionals, and representatives of the business community and social organizations. The event is organized for the second time by Maurits Groen Milieu & Communications, who also handled the Dutch translation of Al Gore's recent book, 'An Inconvenient Truth.'

Audi A6 with A-label

The particular version you are using, the Audi A6 2.0 TDI e, is a state of the art diesel-powered car. It delivers an average fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers, which is 44.38 US mpg. This is equivalent to a CO2 emission of just 139 grams per kilometer on regular diesel fuel, while simultaneously fulfilling the most stringent European emission category.

Gas to Liquids

To further improve the carbon footprint, we have fuelled these vehicles with synthetic GTL fuel from Shell. GTL fuel is synthesized via chemical reaction using natural gas as a basis. Every Audi fitted with a TDI engine can run on GTL without needing any modifications. Using GTL fuel reduces the CO2 emissions of your Audi A6 2.0 TDIe vehicle by a further 5 percent to just 132 grams per kilometer.

There are other benefits to using GTL fuel. The emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is reduced by 30%, carbon monoxide emissions are reduced by 93%, and sulphur oxide emissions are eliminated completely. Audi and Shell are proud to have been able to collaborate in providing this cutting-edge clean mobility.
