Citroen's sub-brand DS is currently releasing the DS5 model, which stands atop of the range of vehicles with its luxury styling and range of advanced technologies. Of course, it is an embodiment of all the attributes of present and future DS vehicles. The flagship model has unique features like the sculpted, vertical grille with the DS monogram in the centre, the Xenon Full LED headlights, a new touch drive interface as well as a new range of high-performance engines.

The "avant-garde" design of the car has the characteristic key features of the sub-brand. Here is the vertical grille with the DS Wings' signature, which extends as two shafts of light into the new headlamp design. Regarding the headlights, they combine LED and Xenon technologies, along with scrolling indicators.

Inside, the designers opted for an aerospace-inspired theme. One of the most characteristic features is the roof with its three light wells. There is also a new touch-drive interface with simplified ergonomic design and new connected services like the Mirror Screen technology. This function lets users copy smartphone content onto the screen and ensures all relevant apps can be used safely when driving.

Safety is ensured by the standard blind spot monitoring system, which joins the lane departure warning function, automatic high beam control, turning headlights that work with the static cornering lighting to optimize illumination, hill-start assist, stability control, intelligent traction control, a reversing camera and a head-up display.

There are a total of six efficient engines and gearbox combinations offered for the DS5. Their power range is from 120 to 210hp, while the torque range is between 240 and 400Nm. In addition the CO2 they emit is measured between 74.3mpg and 65.7mpg. For instance, the new DS 5 Hybrid 4x4 unit delivers sub-100g/km of CO2 and over 80mpg on a combined cycle. The engine range will be extended at the end of 2015 with a new 210 hp powerplant - the THP 210 S&S mated to a six-speed manual.

DS 5 will have its world premiere at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The new model is scheduled to arrive in showrooms in July this year.
