Ferrari has unleashed its extreme performance monster Ferrari 458 Challenge at the 35th edition of the Bologna Motor Show. Showcasing an exclusively racy spirit, the 458 Challenge builds on the series 458 Italia and offers even more fun experience and adrenaline-pumping emotions behind the wheel.

In comparison with the 458 Italia, the new Challenge edition benefits from the same direct injection 4499 cc V8 unit with output of 570 horsepower at 9,000 revs. Its dual-clutch F1 gearbox has been optimized to provide higher torque at lower revs, and is fitted with a special suspension set-up that boasts steel uniball joints, stiffer springs, single-rate alloy dampers, 19-inch forged wheels, larger dimension Pirelli slicks and 50mm lowering. Another unmistakable race addition is the new generation Brembo CCM2 brakes integrated with the latest ABS system, which was premiered on the Ferrari 599XX.

In the terms of weight, the 458 Challenge has been undergone some serious modifications on both exterior and interior, resulting in reducing the thickness of the bodyshell panels and utilizing lightweight materials, such as carbon-fiber and Lexan.

Further state-of-the-art technology highlights on the race ride is the F1-Trac traction control system, which is the most sophisticated of its kind.
