The base for Jay's Camaro is a standard LS or LT model with 3.6 litre direct injected V6 engine. The power unit received a pair of Turbonetics T-3 turbochargers, which boost around 0.5 bars of pressure to force-feed the engine and to deliver around 425hp. One of the important moments is that there is no penalty in fuel economy, when you drive normally (when the turbochargers aren't making boost).

"Jay's Camaro offers style, performance and efficiency in a big way," said Dewar. "It delivers the power of a Camaro SS on demand, but with the fuel economy of a V-6."

The tuned car has additionally installed upgrades such as a larger-capacity Be-Kool radiator and a custom exhaust system. The car also got high-performance Centerforce-supplied clutch and pressure plate for the six-speed manual transmission to maintain the tension from the more powerful engine.

For additional style in engine bay, the tubing for the turbo system is powder-coated blue.

To support the racing intent, Jay Leno Camaro has big Brembo six-piston brake package. The suspension is improved by installing Pedders coil-over lowering kit.

The exterior can't remain unchanged. JL Camaro has new front fascia with custom fog lamps and integral brake cooling vents. The car also gets unique upper and lower grilles and the ground effects package (including a rear diffuser). The air extractor-style hood completes the aggressive exterior of Jay Leno Camaro.

The car is considered to be the most radical of all the Camaro concepts at 2009 SEMA Show.
