Citroen C-Crosser commercial at the motor show!
Making a surprise UK première at the Motor Show (Excel, London July 22 – August 3) is the new C-Crosser Commercial - the latest addition to Citroën's fast growing range of light commercial vehicles. Based on the C-Crosser 4x4 SUV, the new C-Crosser Commercial is priced from £16,995 + VAT + delivery, has been launched to meet the requirements of businesses needing stylish and practical load carriers for on/off highway operation.

The C-Crosser Commercial brings to the 4x4 van market the benefit of the best engine available in this sector - Citroën's clean and fuel efficient 2.2 HDi engine. This advanced diesel offers an unrivalled combination of high power (156hp) at 4,000rpm and high torque (380Nm at 2,000rpm). With six-speed manual transmission, the C-Crosser Commercial can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 9.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 124mph. All this is achieved with exceptional fuel economy of up to 47.9mpg on the extra-urban cycle and 191g/km CO2 emissions.
The C-Crosser Commercial is only the second light commercial vehicle range in Europe (the Citroën Dispatch was the first) to be fitted with Citroën's advanced, self-regenerating Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS). With DPFS particulate emissions are reduced to virtually immeasurable levels.
To provide the C-Crosser Commercial with both on-road and off-road capability, it has a selectable control transmission. This simple shift-on-the-fly selector enables front wheel drive, four-wheel drive or transmission lock-up mode to be easily selected. In four wheel drive mode, engine torque is automatically split between the front and rear axles to provide optimum grip in all conditions. When lock-up is selected, all four wheels are driven, but 1.5 times more torque is sent to the rear axle – which makes this transmission mode ideal for laden running or towing in snow, sand or mud.
The C-Crosser Commercial's business capability is well-founded with a payload capacity of 743kg, a maximum towing weight of 2,410kg, a load compartment volume of 2.3m3 and a load deck height of just 600mm.
Thanks to two rear side doors and a clever two-piece rear tailgate, the C-Crosser Commercial provides the convenience and efficiency benefits of three-way load accessibility. Inside, there is a completely flat, 1,720mm long load floor. For most load carrying applications, only the top-hinged tailgate needs to be opened, but for heavier/larger loads or to provide a convenient platform at the rear of the vehicle, the top half of the rear bumper section, which forms the lower part of the rear aperture, can be dropped to provide an even larger rear door opening.
A full height bulkhead with a window separates the well-equipped and comfortable driving compartment from the roomy load area, which is fitted with protective carpet mats and 6 tie down eyes for optimum practicality. For load security, the C-Crosser Commercial has completely opaque rear side window and tailgate window glazing so that prying eyes cannot see what is in the load area.
Comfort is a major feature of the C-Crosser Commercial range. Both the VTR and VTR+ models are fitted as standard with automatic air conditioning with pollen filter, electric windows, RDS stereo radio/MP3 compatible CD player, and high frequency remote control central locking with deadlocks and anti-theft alarm. Other security measures include automatic door and tailgate locking when the vehicle is in motion. In addition, both models offer an ample range of in-cab lidded and open storage compartments including an air-conditioned glove box, cup holders, sunglasses holders and an adjustable front armrest.
In both the C-Crosser Commercial VTR and VTR+ the driver benefits from a comfortable, height-adjustable seat which, combined with a reach/rake-adjustable steering wheel means that the ideal driving position is easily obtained. Other driver benefits include cruise control, multi-function onboard trip computer, automatic illumination of headlights and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors.
Safety is also a major feature of the C-Crosser Commercial VTR and VTR+ models, with ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability programme (ESP) with traction control, driver and passenger airbags, lateral airbags and front curtain airbags.
To this already high level of standard specification, the C-Crosser Commercial VTR+, which is priced from £18,425 + VAT + delivery, adds Itoka 16in alloy wheels, front fog lights, leather trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, twin silver finish roof bars and even more luxurious Black Diamond woven cloth seat trim.
