The main attraction in Opel model year 2009 is without question the new Insignia. The notchback and hatchback versions will be introduced in November 2008 and the station wagon variant, the Sports Tourer, will follow a few months later. All three models are now available to order. The other model lines were made even more attractive with targeted refinements. The best examples are the Agila, Corsa, Meriva, Astra, Zafira and Combo: to date, the lowest-emission engine in each model line was awarded the ecoFLEX badge. With the new model year, the lowest-emission engine variant in every fuel category, be it gasoline, diesel or CNG, will now carry the ecoFLEX logo. Opel thus offers customers easier orientation when they are looking for particularly environmentally compatible cars.

Astra: ecoFLEX 119g/km, four door, entry-level with air conditioner and radio CD 30

Opel Astra 1.7 CDTI ecoFLEX

The Astra 1.7 CDTI ecoFLEX with 81 kW/110 hp and standard six-speed manual transmission is completely new in the Opel portfolio. The extremely economical Astra is available as a three-door, five-door and station wagon variant. It consumes just 4.5 liters of diesel per 100 km and emits 119 g/km CO2.

Opel Astra Four Door Notchback

The Astra family grows with the addition of the Design Edition, now available to order. Its sportiness and elegance is underlined by standard 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps and tinted SolarProtect heat-absorbing glazing in the rear. This is complemented by the four-door Astra notchback in the equipment variant Edition with the 85 kW/115 hp 1.6 ECOTEC engine. The entry-level version of the Astra (five-door, GTC and station wagon) comes standard with air conditioning and radio-CD 30. Rounding off new offers in the Astra line are 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels in 7-spoke trapezoidal design and modified caps for the design wheel.

Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX now with just 109 g/km CO2

The CO2 emissions of the Corsa 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX, available as a three-door variant in the entry-level and Edition equipment versions, were greatly improved. The measures lead to combined fuel consumption reduction from 4.5 to 4.1 liters of diesel per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km, 10 grams less than the previous 119 g/km.

All Corsa models now have pockets on the back of both front seats (except OPC). The Corsa Cosmo features chrome door sills with the Opel nameplate, while the rear windows in the Sport, GSi and OPC (optional with Cosmo) versions are darkly tinted. The Sport and GSi also have darkly tinted tail lights. 16-inch alloy wheels in 7-spoke trapezoidal design can also be ordered with the Edition and INNOVATION. The Corsa OPC and Corsa with OPC Line Package 2 are available in trendy Casablanca white.

The Zafira now has four variants with the environmental "ecoFLEX" logo – one gasoline version, two diesels and the natural-gas model. In addition, the new exterior color carbon gray, 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels in 7-spoke trapezoidal design as well as modified caps for the design wheel are available.

Opel engineers' continued efforts to increase the efficiency of the automaker's engines also yield positive results outside of the ecoFLEX line. The Meriva 1.8 ECOTEC consumes 0.6 liters less per 100 km than before. The monocab bestseller now also offers optional 16-inch alloy wheels in 7-spoke trapezoidal design for the Edition and INNOVATION models.

The new Edition Plus equipment version of the Antara already makes clear with its name that customers can expect even more from the offroader, namely darkly tinted windows in the rear. The Edition Plus Package includes cruise control, on-board computer, park pilot, graphic info display and 18-inch alloy wheels in 5-spoke V design.

The model year highlight in the GT is the additional 6 x CD changer for the standard MP3-compatible stereo CD-radio. The Combo can now be ordered with 15-inch alloy wheels in 7-spoke trapezoidal design and beech green exterior lacquer.
