Following the debut of the recently announced Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the German sportscar manufacturer has revealed a new racing car – Porsche 911 GT3 R. The new sports ride will be raced in series based on the international FIA GT3 regulations.

Delivering even better drivability and easier handling, the all-new 911 GT3 R is powered by a 4.0 litre 6-cylinder boxer engine with max output of 480 bhp (353 kW) transmitted to the rear axle by a sequential 6-speed dog gearbox. The new addition in the Porsche's motorsport line-up weighs only 1,200 kg and offers 30 bhp more than the Cup model. A traction control system, ABS and an e-gas with "throttle-blip" function contributes for vehicle's striking agility. Furthermore, the 911 GT3 R is equipped with striking LED rear light clusters and flared wheel arches.

The world premiere of the Porsche 911 GT3 R will take place at the Birmingham Motor Show on 14 January 2010. The Porsche's Motorsport Department creation is priced at 279,000 Euro plus VAT.
