2012 Toyota Yaris Hybrid is a breakthrough in the development of technologies. The reasons for this are several, but probably some of the most prominent ones are the low emissions, refined performance and reliability of full hybrid technology.

This hybrid model is available to order now and can be seen on the UK roads, starting from 1st of July this year. Its price starts from £14 995, which makes it Britain's lowest-priced hybrid car.

What is more important here however is that it is equipped with range of technologies which are significant in terms of improvement on many levels. First, the hybrid system has been made smaller and lighter so that it can be fitted to the Yaris without reducing the space available in both the cabin and the boot.

Secondly, the new development of Toyota's smooth, quiet and highly efficient Hybrid Synergy Drive system, uses a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine, nickel-metal hydride battery pack and CVT (continuously variable transmission). This results in CO2 emissions of just 79g/km for the T3and T4 models and 85g/km for the T Spirit. The fuel consumption respectively is estimated 80.7mpg and 76mpg.
