Style

2016 Passat offers sharper lines and overall aggressive appearance than its predecessor with the redesigned hood, fenders, grille, bumpers and LED head- and taillights.  These changes and the chrome on the window surroundings, door trims further enhance the overall aggressive stance. And now, for the first time VW offers and the R-Line of the Passat. This is a sporty models that grants customers with special rocket panels, stylish front bumpers, modified rear diffuser and 19" anthracite Salvador aluminum-alloy wheels.

On the other side, the inside of the 2016 Passat is further upgraded and now it looks more sophisticated and it is even wider. The cabin includes upgraded materials, new steering wheel and column stalk design, two-tone decor panels and refined chrome and piano black trim. The passengers will also benefit from heatable rear seats, while the driver will be granted with Easy-Open keyless access that opens the trunk via moving a foot near the rear of the car. Technology

2016  Passat offers and VW's second-generation "modular infotainment platform", better known as MIB II. This system features touch screens as standard equipment for all models from the lineup. Furthermore, the MIB II also features a special proximity sensor that detects when a hand is nearby and automatically switches its display to ensure easier control and selection of specific features.

The latest VW vehicle will also offer a combination of new safety and drive assistance systems. For example, the Automatic Post-Collision Braking system will be part of the standard equipment for the 2016 Passat. It ensures that the kinetic energy is reduced to minimum after impact and decreases the risk of fatal injuries in this way.

Drivesystem

2016 Passat offers three powertrain options: the first one is the 1.8-liter turbocharged and direct-injected TSI 4-cylinder unit, the second one is a 2.0-liter TDI beast and the last one is a 3.6-liter VR6 eingine that produces a total of 280 hp (205 kW). This is one of the highest outputs in the midsize sedan class so far. Furthermore, the 1.8T has an EPA estimated highway economy rating of 38 mpg with the automatic gearbox.
