Pictures of the upcoming Chevrolet Niva Concept have leaked to the web, ahead of its official debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show starting tomorrow.

The SUV will be 4,316mm long, which is 260 mm more than the current generation. It will also gain McPherson strut front suspension and will retain its dependent rear suspension. Other highlights include a permanent all-wheel drive system and a 1.8 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 136HP (100 kW) by Peugeot. It will be connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox produced by GM (General Motors).

The production model will be available only with petrol engine, because a diesel will reflect in high development costs.

Some of the equipment includes a roof rack, an attached spare wheel and a set of 16" wheels fitted with off-road tires. There is also an engine snorkel ensuring safe wading depth as well as an engine under-protection guarding the oil pan.

The Chevolet Niva Concept will be officially unveiled tomorrow, so stay tuned!
