Land Rover has achieved an extremely important milestone in the manufacturing process of its  Freelander 2 model by completing its 250,000th example at Company's Halewood plant.

Destined for a customer who lives in Scotland, the 250,000th Freelander 2 is powered by a 2.2-liters TD4 Diesel GS unit and is finished in Fuji White body color.

Halewood operations director Richard Else, shared: "This milestone achievement and the increasing sales for Freelander 2 highlights just how important this vehicle is, not just to Halewood but also for the regional and UK economy - around 70% of Freelanders produced at Halewood are exported overseas. I'd like to thank our flexible and highly skilled workforce and congratulate the Halewood team on this superb achievement."

The 2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 is an exclusively robust compact crossover SUV which is offered with either 2WD or 4WD and an improved 2.2-liters diesel unit with two power outputs – 190 horsepower-SD4 and 150 horsepower-TD4.
