The UK performance auto electronics specialist Superchips has released an ECU upgrade for the renowned compact MINI Cooper S R56. Unwrapped in model year 2007, the Cooper S R56 model packs a 1.6-litre, twin scroll turbocharged, direct injection power unit managed by MED17 engine system.

Thanks to its fine ECU remap, the in-house specialists at Superchips have managed to optimize the ignition timing, fuelling and the turbo boost parameters of the urban mini-car. In numbers, the tuned MINI now produces 195 horsepower, a 20 horsepower increase to the stock 175 horsepower. The torque leaps from a measured 256 Nm to the strong 282 Nm with well over 250 Nm available from 2500rpm to 5250rpm, underlining the improved flexibility of the Superchips enhanced MINI Cooper S.

Already available in approximately 100 Superchips dealerships across the UK, the new performance remap is price tagged at £445.00 including VAT.
