American Honda Motor Co., Inc., May sales of 167,997, up 11.3 percent on a daily-selling-rate basis(1), shattered the company's all-time sales record for any month as Civic sales reached 53,299, up 28.3 percent versus last May and surpassing the previous monthly record for any car in the lineup.
New all-time records set in May included (previous record in parentheses):

Whitby, Ontario. BMW Group Canada reported today record May sales of 3,324 BMW and MINI vehicles, up 6.1% over May 2007. Year-to-date BMW and MINI sales are 10,622 units, a slight decrease of 3.3% over the same period last year.
The BMW brand set a new May sales record of 2,747 units, up 1.0% over May last year. Year-to-date, 8,892 BMWs have been sold, a slight 6.4% decline over last year.

A 40-tonne truck has turned the dream of a ‘one-litre car’ into reality: as the result of a test drive at Nardo in southern Italy, the new Actros tractor-trailer from Mercedes-Benz has set a world record as the most fuel-efficient truck in its category.
