Audi has officially announced that its ultra-sharp, high-performance model Audi TT RS Coupe is about to make its US market debut by the third quarter of 2011. This decision came to life after a Facebook survey in which more than 11,500 fans have expressed their deep enthusiasm for the introduction of the Audi TT RS on the US scene.

Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America, shares: "With performance and agility rooted in Audi motorsports success, the TT RS is truly an emotional sports car. That emotion became abundantly clear as we explored interest across the country."

Still in process of determining proper price tags and extras available for the US fans, the Ingolstadt-based automaker has already confirmed that the American TT RS will share key performance attributes of the models sold in Europe and elsewhere. The sports ride will benefit from the same, award-winning 2.5-liter TFSI, five-cylinder power unit capable of delivering the amazing 360 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of maximum torque. Further key elements include: a six-speed manual transmission, quattro® all-wheel drive, as well as Audi Space Frame ASF® aluminum construction.
