Recently, all manufacturers make their cars "greener" and the Seat is not an exception. The new ECOMOTIVE range is fitted with the very latest 105 hp 1.6 TDI CR engine, and boasts both a DPF particulate filter and cutting edge common rail fuelling technology as standard. Together, these features help to considerably lower both fuel consumption figures and emissions levels.

Seat managed to lower the emissions to the amazing 119 g/km of CO2 for Altea and Altea XL and Leon ECOMOTIVE  does only 99 g/km of CO2.

These results are achieved by using some very good technologies.  For example when the car comes to a halt and the driver selects neutral and lifts his foot off the clutch. At this point the Start/Stop system kicks in and automatically switches off the engine.

The new ECOMOTIVE versions are also equipped with SEAT's energy recuperation function, which recycles energy coming from the alternator when the driver takes his foot off the accelerator or steps on the brake

The engineers also improved the gear box and equipped the ECOMOTIVE series with special low friction tyres.

All these upgrades are with two single reasons – decreasing fuel consumption and lowering the emissions and the SEAT managed to do that.
