Recently, the electric sports cars are very fashionable. Audi revealed e-Tron and BMW can't watch with indifference, so they started to prepare i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid, which will be a direct rival of Audi e-Tron.

The power system of BMW i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid, which is planned to be launched in 2013 is a three-cylinder direct injected petrol engine and two electric motors. The estimated overall power will be around 265-285hp.

The same power system was presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in the Vision EfficienDynamics Concept. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is covered in 4.8 seconds and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250 km/h). The combined fuel consumption is 3.7 litres/100km and CO2 emissions are less than 100g/km.

The expected price of BMW i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid is around €100 000, but the aim of the company is to sell over 35 000 units.
