New CX-7 is a true Sports Crossover. It combines power and comfort in a perfect way to bring unique driving experience. Mazda CX-7 will go on sale 1 November priced at £25,785.

With the new face CX-7 comes with a new 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine developing 173ps and 400Nm of torque, which comes from only 2000rpm. Combined with the stiffer bodyshell, re-tuned suspension, revised gear ratios and lower cabin noise, Mazda CX-7 delivers pure driving pleasure.

The interior is very generous according to space. There is enough room for five passengers and the boot is 455 litres with the rear seats upright. The maximum luggage space is 774 litres with the seats folded down.

Mazda CX-7 Facelift is specially adapted for UK market. The main changes were to the power and drive trains. The most powerful engine marketed in the USA - 244ps was replaced with 260ps turbo-charged four-cilynder petrol engine, which is available in the Mazda 3 MPS super-hatch model. The suspension is refined specially for European roads to deliver maximum handling performance.

It appears that the 2.2 litre turbocharged four-cylinder MZR-CD diesel engine is the best choice at the moment, because of the world crisis. This powerunit delivers 173ps and 400Nm of torque, combined with 6 speed manual gearbox the diesel provides nice performance and low fuel consumption, even though the car is permanently all-wheel driven. The unique Active Torque 4-wheel drive system is included to maintain the traction by distributing up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels, if needed. The CX-7 powered by diesel engine is capable of doing 37.7mpg ( 6.2l/100km) – combined cycle and emissions are just 199g/km.

There is a new active safety system included in new CX-7, it is called Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS). This system activates the hazard warning lights whenever the driver brakes abruptly and heavily. Until now people did that manually by pushing the button for the hazard lights, so it is very useful.

The additional safety is provided by Rear Vehicle Monitoring system (RVM). This aid to safe lane-changing uses wide-angle radar units to monitor traffic behind the CX-7 and warns the driver of an approaching vehicle before he/she has a chance to move across into a busy lane by mistake.  The system, which is effective in all weathers, also detects vehicles driving in the ‘blind spot' area and does not monitor or detect cars following behind in the same lane. The vehicle is also equipped with four-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) system, Traction Control System (TCS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).

Like the majority of Mazda models, the CX-7 is equipped with front, side and curtain airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters.

The new Mazda CX-7 appears to be very good value for money, so if you search for vehicle in its class, probably you wont find a better one.
