If you are demanding for a ultra-efficient, eco-friendly ride which blends modern exterior, sporty nature and compact dimensions, than the new Opel Astra 1.3 CDTI ecoFLEX might be the right solution. Already available in the brand's dealerships, the small Astra ecoFLEX boasts an entry-level price tag of 19,390 Euro in Germany.

Thanks to its newly engineered, ultra-economical 1.3 CDTI 95 horsepower (70 kW) turbo diesel powerplant, it estimates great efficiency values - CO2 emissions of 109 g/km and combined fuel consumption of 4.1 liters per 100 km. It also packs revised exhaust gas recirculation unit (EGR) and additional cooling function. Linked to a five-speed manual transmission optimized to obtain the high fuel economy, the engine renders peak torque of strong 190 Nm between 1,750 and 3,250 rpm. Moreover, a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is fitted as standard.

On the outside, the new ecoFLEX-titled ride benefits from aerodynamic improvements, which include an active aero shutter fitted to the front grille. It opens to allow fresh air to pass the engine at low speeds and then automatically closes at higher speeds to smooth the airflow at the front of the ride. This solution is backed by smart-tuned aero elements on the underside of the Astra. To help drivers exploit the car's full eco credentials, a gear change-up light is standard on all Opel ecoFLEX models.
