The new Mercedes-Benz CL-Class comes with entirely re-designed V8 biturbo engine of the CL 500 BlueEFFICIENCY model delivering 435hp and returning the incredible 29.7mpg. Recently, Volkswagen has announced the price list for 2011 Touareg and now it is available to order in UK. The first deliveries will start in October this year. Prices start at £38 225 for the SE 3.0-litre TDI 240 PS, while the Hybrid model, which goes on sale next month, costs £54 995.
The new VW Touareg is a bit larger than its predecessor – totally 40mm in length and wheelbase, but the vehicle weighs over 200kg less, so the result is 20 per cent more efficiency.

BMW E92 M3 is originally powered by a monstrous naturally aspirated 4.0 liter V8 delivering 420hp. Obviously that is not enough to compete against mighty Porsche 997 Turbo.

Mercedes-Benz are famous with the enormous engines , which they put in cars and their megalomania didn’t miss C class. The result is C63 AMG, which has 6.2 liter V8 naturally aspirated engine producing 451hp.
Unfortunately, the same engine produced 507 and 518 horsepower in E and S class. The big V8 got more restrictive intake and exhaust paths, because it is a tight fit in the smaller C class.

GM Holden will introduce fuel saving Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology on all its V8 automatic models from January 2009.
AFM, or cylinder deactivation, enables an eight cylinder vehicle to automatically operate on four cylinders in certain driving conditions, before restoring full power when engine demands increase.
