Volkswagen gives us the first glimpse of Project Trinity: an electrically powered sedan with expanded range, new technologies and an overall new approach towards the EV sector.

Volkswagen of America, Inc. announces that results from a maintenance cost study reveal that some of the brand’s models have the lowest cost of maintenance. The analysis is performed by Vincentric, an automotive data firm. It shows that Atlas and Jetta's lineups offer the lowest costs for maintenance over the first five years of ownership, whereas Tiguan, Passat and Arteon outperformed key models from competitive brands.

The new plug-in hybrid drivetrain is supported by a 13 kWh battery which can provide an electric-only range of up to 39 miles, while the 115 PS electric motor can power the Arteon along at speeds up to 80 mph, where permitted.
